Every rate is per boat for up to three anglers, with a small charge for each additional angler up to a maximum of five. Prices are the same all year, and they do not change based on who is fishing. Non-fishing guests and kids along for the ride are not charged extra.

What's included, and what isn't.
Everything you need to fish is in the price. There are no surprise add-ons at the dock. Every trip includes live bait, all rods, reels, and tackle, your fishing licenses, a professional guide, ice, bottled water, sodas, snacks, a top-cover roof for sun and rain, and cleaning and filleting of your catch.
Not included: a gratuity for your guide, lodging, transport to and from the lodge, and lunch after fishing. Fishing licenses are covered, which is a common question, so you do not need to buy anything separately to fish with us.

Why booking direct costs less.
The rates above are direct rates. If you find PanalakeSportfishing on a third-party booking platform, the same trip will cost more, often 15 to 30 percent more, because those platforms add their own commission on top of the captain's price. Every captain prefers a direct booking. It means a fair price for you and a direct line to the person running your trip.

How we compare
Priced against Gamboa-based charters.
Most Panama peacock bass charters run out of Gamboa, on the eastern, tourist side of Gatun Lake. Their own booking pages tell the story. A three-hour trip for two anglers commonly starts around $330. A six-hour trip for two is listed near $550 plus tax. Compare that to $275 for a six-hour trip here, for up to three anglers, and the gap is real.
The price is only half of it. Gamboa sits about 30 minutes by boat from the fishing. We operate from La Arenosa on the western side of the lake, five minutes from big peacock bass water, with our furthest spots 45 minutes out. You spend the day fishing instead of running the boat back and forth. The peacock bass on this side also run bigger, generally 25 to 30 percent larger than what comes out of Gamboa, and big fish are landed every week.

Lodging, transport, and multi-day trips.
We also have four lakefront casitas on Gatun Lake, starting at $80 a night, with a lower nightly rate the longer you stay. Staying at the lodge turns a single charter into a proper fishing trip and is the easiest way to fish more than one day.
Airport pickup from Panama City (PTY) and transfers anywhere within about two hours of the lodge run around $150 round trip for four people or fewer. Meals depend on your group size and what you want to eat, so we arrange those directly when you book.
Multi-day stay-and-fish trips usually work out cheaper per day once lodging and charters are combined. There is no fixed package price. We build it around your dates and party size, so message us and we will put together an exact number.
Booking and payment
Deposits, payment, and cancellation.
A 50 percent deposit holds your date. If you do not have a Panamanian bank account, deposits are sent by Western Union. If you do, a direct bank transfer works. Everything is handled in US dollars, and the deposit is refundable up to 7 days before your trip.
Tips for your fishing guide, and a tip for the cleaning staff if you stay in the casitas, are always appreciated but never required or added to your bill.
